Last weekend Eddy and I had went to Penang for NYE countdown and also a holiday break. We park our car around the heritage area in Georgetown where the Town Hall located(where also known as Esplanade)

We had also tour around the Stewart Streets which is just across and behind of a Chinese Temple and guess what we found?! A cosy and relaxing environment cafe is just around the corner which is Cafe 55

We sat down and a friendly waiter giving us a warmth welcome and give us some introductory of the cafe which there's a coffee making history museum next door which we can visit as well.

We had ordered a glass of ice latte and hot cappuccino and cafe 55 do offers mediterranean inspired cuisine and tapas in an informal setting. Their menu features a variety of light, tasty dishes, with daily specials depending on what's fresh at the market on that day.

The coffee museum that they have is where the history boards and also the traditional way of roast coffee

Cafe 55 it's not only an ordinary cafe, they do have lodge where you can rent. I'm not sure for the room rate but you can call up and check it out hehe...

It's been long I didn't blog uh?! oh well.. this is because I'm lazy hahaha... anyway I'm back now and I hope this review is interesting enough for food lovers.

Been buying bread from Lavender but haven't try their restaurant yet and yesterday I'd went for hi-tea.

Like I said buying bread from Lavender where they have a bread store from the entrance.

And when you go in further you'll see L.Table, it's pretty huge area tho

And here comes my hi-tea comes with cookies, finger sandwiches, croissant, butter creme scone and chocolate cake.

I'll love to give extra points for the crunchy, hot and creamy scones and the crispy layers of croissant! thumbs up.

As for the cookies and sandwich it's just normal but the chocolate cake it's really disappointing, not moist enough and not rich in chocolate, I think they have to do something about the cake.

And this hi-tea set comes with a glass of coffee too and it cost RM28 and the heart shape is done by Eddy using the steam milk. How lovely is that hahaa...

We had also ordered a Eggs Benedict at RM22, it's not like the normal egg benedict that we had before and the risotto at the bottom is fried to crisp with a nice aroma as well.

Overall, the food and ambient is good weekend rest and relax and would love to go there again to try their Lamb Pocket ^^

Allo Paris @ Damansara Perdana

Allo Paris is a new fusion restaurant in Damansara Perdana neighbourhood. When I passby this restaurant during their renovation I thought it's some kind of high end restaurant but till I see their slogan "no boundaries, just fusion" that makes me feels safe to try or else my pocket will bleed hahaha... and it just open last week!

It's pretty huge of the whole area of the restaurant but it will be ice if the have some partition on, so it will be more cosy.

You can also find their bar which facing the facade

and their spider look-a-like lights looks so cool and able to z'hng the whole place, good choice hehehe...

As for the price wise, you will be amaze from lowest RM9.90 to RM27.90 range. Is it sounds like a good deal? it was!

Somehow they have a unique Eiffel tower water bottle where the water is free but the bottle will be taken back hahaha...

I'd start off with a Potato and Crab Salad @ RM12.90, it's consisted of cubed potatoes and white crab meat in creamy sesame dressing tossed with spring onions, gherkins and crispy bacon but I don't really taste the bacon tho but it's definitely a good starter.

Had also order a Steak Sandwich @ RM12.90, with tender braised beef and slices of cheddar cheese drizzled in barbeque sauce, also served with potato chips and lettuce. Each bite of it will give you the nice aroma of BBQ sauce and the cheddar with the juicy beef steak. If I'm not mistaken the chips are from Lays coz it taste like it hahahaha..

Another sharing portion which is the Chicken Roulade @ RM17.90, it's a pan seared chicken breast brimmed with mushrooms(taste like truffle tho), also with a side of ratatouille and herb-infused butter sauce which taste like the garlic sauce of escargot. Nice combination of sauce and the ingredient, it's just like having fine dining in a more affordable price. I'll definitely be back to try on other dishes!

Too bad they do not have a dessert menu yet but their Cappuccino is good! and it just for RM5.90

My summary, it's a restaurant which worth trying and it's a good deal in town!

Char Siew @ Toast & Roast SS2

This one afternoon, I'd look for my friend who works in Damansara Intan and he had brought me to Toast & Roast which I did not know what am I gonna eat this time. So from Damansara Intan we had walk towards Ken 2 Condo and from there we go across the blocked road which links to SS2 and ta~da~ we found a row of shoplots where there is a mamak at the corner and Toast & Roast at the center.

And yet I had no idea what are they special for and till I see their simple menu which all in English translate even the herbal tea sounds like this "leong cha", "pat bou" and etc which makes me notice that this business owner is a banana hehe...

Anyway, they are famous for their char siew which melts into your mouth and they do have small, medium and large portion to be choose on.

And to pair with it, you can order the plain Hakka noodle or noodle comes with char siew as well. For regular portion is RM4.50 and the large portion is RM5.50.

The only thing I hate about Hakka noodle it's oily but once in a blue moon doesn't matter but just make sure you do some exercise to burn it off too hehe...

Sanuki Udon @ Taman Bukit Desa

Been receiving complaint from Mike Lee that I did not update my blog for long and it's because I'm just too lazy hahahaha....

I bet you had been here Mike lolx...

Sanuki Udon is no other than cheap and good food around the neighborhood in Taman Bukit Desa which Eddy had brought me here as he and his colleagues spotted this place.

Their Udon is freshly made and the price range is from RM5, which it's unbelievable and you just have to believe it, it's real deal! The Udon is so chewy and yummy!

For the first time I had Kisune Udon RM6

and Eddy had the House Special with Egg Udon (cold) RM6

Bottomless green tea for RM1

Sesame Mini Salad just RM3!!! where to find right?!

Something which is even more unbelieveable is Karaage(chicken) for RM3 and there is 3 pieces!

They had this menu all day and the only thing they serve at night is Yakitori and steamboat. Their Yakitori is a good deal too with good taste!

The night crowd is not bad too and even celebrity like Elaine Daly was there last night and guess what no matter day or night, there is also plenty of Japanese with their kids dine-in too.

This round I had ordered a Original Udon at RM5

MS had ordered a House Special with Egg Udon (hot) RM6

and we ordered Yakitori for sharing as well and some other dishes which I'd tried before which is Karaage and Mini Salad.

People keep coming in and out Sanuki and last night there is 4 of us so we had sad for long to dine and also gossip like no other business haha..

Actually the portion of Udon is good enough to keeps your tummy full but if you have friends would like to share side dish with you which is best or else you will be wasting food.

Hokkaido Ramen Santuoka @ Tokyo Street Pavilion

There's another ramen shop in town and here comes the urge to try it since I was in Pavilion last weekend for a shopping spree.

It's good to dine when it's not time for dinner yet or else you will needs to queue for long!

Eddy is checking out what he would like to have and as a result I saw in foursquare a note that a friend left saying the premium pork ramen is worth to try and so we did and no doubt it awesome, the soup is mouth watering and compare to Marutama Ramen in Fahrenheit 88, Santuoka Ramen taste 10x better! and we ordered a regular portion at RM36 for sharing.

I had ordered their Caesar salad RM13, at first we felt cheated due to the portion but after taste it, we got no more question for it, as the sauce that they had was fantastic, there's touch of cream cheese and onsen tamago.

Besides, we do also ordered a Gyoza, 5piece at RM10, the dough is soft and the sweetness of Gyoza is just irresistible, I would say 5pieces is not enough hehe

So done all makan-makan, remember to floss it haha..

Ginza Cafe at Tokyo Street Pavilion KL

Finally in this one good afternoon I able to sit back and relax and enjoy the atmosphere in Tokyo Street in Pavilion KL. There's is a huge lantern on the escalator area while you going up to Tokyo Streets at the 6th floor.

By browsing around the restaurant and cafe, and this Ginza cafe pastry is eye catching!

The bread display is from the entrance and there's table for dining in the cafe too, where you can also grab the bread and pass to the ground staff to as for a re-heat and send to your table.

The bread price range is from RM3.00-RM10.00 . So this is the bread I grab ; melon bun, cheese bun, and bacon bun for RM3.90 each, the melon bun had a crispy layer and the cheese bun and bacon bun both are good, and lucky enough they are doing their opening promotions with all the buns having 30% discounts!

Grab their croissants as well for RM3.90 but the croissant do not have the crisp and nice butter fragrant.

Had also ordered a Strawberry Tart RM12.50. It's so refreshing and too bad the strawberry is a bit of sour but overall taste is good, and they do have a layer of almond at the bottom which makes you crave for more.

How can all this cakes and pastry go without a cup of cappuccino!! and here you go a Kitty Cat decor on the top layer of cappuccino for RM8.90

Approx 3 weeks ago, I'd went to Singapore to celebrate my birthday with my dearest Jin Keat and my beloved Eddy. Jin Keat had recommend us to celebrate in Capricci where quoted as the Best Italian Fine Dining Restaurant in Singapore in Tg Pagar.

There's a distance to walk from the MRT station to Capricci but once you enter the restaurant you will be greet by the duo Massimo Aquaro and Chef Luca Carrino and they gives me a shocked. They actually waited for their guest to arrive(needs reservation) and both of them are very friendly and gives a good hospitality throughout the night.

Even it's a very small shoplot but it do gives a very typical Italian home ambient.

For starter we had ordered two dishes which is the Fresh Scallop Carpaccio with Citrus Dressing, Hot Leeks and Truffle Oil at SGD20, no doubt it is really fresh ;)

Another starter which is the 36 months Cured Parma Ham with Rock Melon Sorbet SGD20, loves the saltiness of ham with the refreshing melon sorbet, where both blends in well and melt into your mouth!

As for main course where both Jin Keat and Eddy had go for pasta as they said a good Itallian dish is always to go for their pasta and Jin Keat had the Linguine with Vongole in White Wine Sauce at SGD22

For Eddy, he had the normal Aglio Olio at SGD20, no doubt both pasta is good.

And for me I had the Oven Baked Suckling Pig Sardinia Style with Mirto Liqueur on a Hat of Portobello Mushroom at SGD35 (birthday girl ma, must order the special dish hahaha) love the crispy suckling pig skin and the juicy meat with the huge portobello mushroom!

As for dessert we had share a Tiramisu at SGD15, to me it's a bit too dry maybe it's not using a lot of cream but it's more like a cake.

Also finish up with a glass of Avanti Cappucino but it's too bitter to me even added with sugar, bet the coffee bean is different from Illy eheheheheee....

“Nathalie’s Gourmet Studio” is an original concept: the studio is divided in a professional kitchen for cooking classes and the restaurant with an outdoor terrace, for breakfasts, luncheons, and tea time. While at the entrance, you won't miss the Macaron's display, Nathalie's sweet and colorful delicacies. However, you can also book the restaurant in the evening for private gatherings, inaugurations or product launches.

There is this one afternoon, after my meeting with Lim, we decided to dine at Nathalie as I told him they serves the best macarons as I heard for many times from friends around me and not to missed out that they do serve lunch and they also change their menu every month.

Once you done ordering, they will serve you their house specialty bun and it was awesome and I just can't stop and even feels liek asking for more buns! I love bread a lot so to me i give 10/10 for the scrumptious taste of it!

As for my main course and also the menu of the month, I'd ordered a Porcini Cannelonis,Parmesan Cheese Sauce at RM45. The name sounds weird right and you have no idea what it is? same reaction of mine when I look at the menu and order it. It's actually a pasta wrapped with mushroom and top with parmesan cheese sauce. It's just gimme a idea of how the Master Chef come out with a dish with their creativity.

Lee had order a Steamed White Fish with Fennel Ratatouille and Virgin Dressing at RM55

Last but not least Nathalie's Macarons and I'd ordered a Caramel flavour and only one piece because it's not cheap! One macarons for RM5! and the first bite is soft and it sticks to your teeth and melts into your mouth and guess wart?! was told this is the best selling flavour ;)

As a summary, my overall dining experience is that, the price of food is a little bit too high perhaps it's a fine dine?! or maybe it's a gourmet studio where all students are trained to be a Michelin Star Chef.

For the overall taste, I found it weird and not my liking maybe it's another way of gastronomy in the market.

For the ambient, I like it a lot as it's like a lifestyle dining hall.

My Half Dozen of Delectable Cupcakes

A little bit of introduction of Delectable it's specially treat by Su and she is the one behind all these designer cupcakes who have all her secret recipe and nice designs on it. You'll be attracted by the nice cupcakes design but you'll also crave more for it.

Since the first time I tried on Su's cupcakes I just can't stop craving for it but it's a bit too pricey but thank to Groupon they have a good deal where Delectable cupcakes is selling for RM56 with 6 cupcakes and a mitten set! where their normal price is approx 3 cupcakes for RM24

and the flavours to choose on are;
a) Lulu the sheep: butter + lime curd
b) Floyd the fish: butter + Macadamia nuts
c) Moe the turtle: butter + green tea
d) Wendy the duck: chocolate + orange butter cream
e) Gus the frog: chocolate + peanut butter and raspberry jam filling
f) Teddy the bear: chocolate + dark chocolate ganache and espresso

They ain't only looks good but taste good too. The flavour I like the most is Wendy with the refreshing taste of orange it's just gorgeous!

My Cook Book @ Sunway Giza, Kota Damansara

John had keep asking me to go to his restaurant and try out the food and last week it's the time where I gather friends to go over and try out.

The restaurant had filled with modern contemporary furniture and setting and it makes you feels like you're dining in a expensive restaurant.

I like the clock, it's combination of kitchen ware.

Kick off with a few chilled sour plum juice where it claims to make it fresh everyday from the sour plum itself and here you go seeing Alvin sucking hard on the sour plum just like the ice-cream of the younger days. and if not mistaken this is selling at RM8.90

Eddy had ordered a hot lemongrass juice, and it's not nice if you did not add enough sugar to it.

We also ordered a few appetizer where the price range is from RM8.90 to RM11.90 whereby the dining experience for the appetizer is that you are paying low price for a fine dining course.

and we have the Yong To Fu, it's a mixture of tofu and meat which had blend in together

Cheese ball with potato, and it's not that yummy as I expected tho

The best appetizer I tried before and also trying again this time is the Black-Eye Pea Cake with Salted Egg Yolk and CookBook Chilli. This is really 5 stars rating!

Wen Hao had ordered a chicken rice and the gimmick is that the chicken is in a silinder shape and same goes to the rice and it comes with a chicken soup where that top piece looks like a tofu but it's actually a process chicken!How cool is that?! and all this surprises element of the chicken rice is just at RM13.90, eventhough the taste of chicken rice is just like an ordinary chicken rice, but the presentation and walk through is awesome!

Me myself had ordered the weekly special Crispy Oyster Salad at RM15.90, the oyster taste like nangka and I love the overall taste! you taste the crisp of the lettuce, the fragrant of the oyster and the dining experience as well!

Last but not least, Eddy had ordered a curry noodle and the bowl is so cool, a huge transparent bowl, and yet to say their food presentation is really amazing with the price you paying is low and the taste of the food and presentation is just so fine dining! good job My CookBook!

Ben's General Food Store @ Bangsar Village (I)

Been to Ben's since last two weeks ago and been busy after that which makes me got no time to update my blog.

My first impression to Ben's is that they are like a high school cafeteria, where they have a salad bar and also the seating arrangement is a sharing long table, where you will feel warmth and full of surprises coz you will never know who is sitting next to you.

I love the cutleries holder and their mineral water bottle too, it's like in a country homes

And the area for the crew to refill water is cool! "drinking water, NO HAND WASH" hahaha

Ok done with some introduction and here comes my appetizer from the salad bar, combo selection of Pesto Penne(RM8.90) and Caesar Salad(RM11.90) so total up is RM20.90 and the portion is as below and the Caesar Salad is gorgeous especially for the toasted bread and not to left out the fresh lettuce!

My main course of the day is Breakfast Pizza, which it consist of egg, sausages, bacon and cheese. It's like you having a big breakfast in a pizza way ;) RM19.90 and the pizza cutter is cool, you needs to roll it and cut it yourselves, a good gimmick tho

Besides a General Food Store they do have a store next door selling imported groceries with nice concepts too

The Apartment @ The Curve

Many people comment and said The Apartment food sucks! and after so long since it operate, finally I give it a try and also hoping that they had revamp their menu as what they suck previously.

The overall look and feel in the premise is cosy and comfortable with dimmed lights on and also homie furniture just like what they name themselves "The Apartment"

I like their serviette with a nice print on it

Anyway, I saw a bunting of theirs promoting the Lamb Rack earlier on, so that come across my mind to order so Lamb Rack at RM38.90, the presentation of the dish is perfect and the taste of the herb was a awesome combination, last but not least the meat is so tender, definitely they had revamp their menu and recipe! and I'm craving for more lamb rack now!!!

Besides being a carnivor, I try to tame down and had also order a Jamie's Duck Pasta at Rm26.90(with a chef recommended sign) for sharing, from my opinion I think the the combination of duck meat and tomato puree does not blends well, perhaps they can implement on this, but the taste is still edible not that bad tho, it just I expect to have more duck meat bites ;)

Before I forget their beverage is a bit pricey, for a glass of fresh juice with the selection of watermelon, mango, orange, etc it's RM12.50 and they do not serve plain water but mineral water which it pretty costly as well from 300ml at RM5 to RM12, so instead of ordering water, I'd choose a better option which is a Fresh Orange Juice hahaha...

William Itallian Mamak @ Taman Mayang had moved!

Last week I'm craving for William's, so I'd went to Taman Mayang and upon my arrival, i saw the location where William's is had been demolished!! I was wipe-out and start google it to search where is the new location of it and ta~da~ I found it and actually William's had moved to the shop lots area which is the same row with Tea Time coffee shop but there are at the other end of it.

As you can see William's is in a better environment now but still remian it's no signboard and menu style hahaha...

And there are plenty of seats now and more hygiene!

Had compile the picture into frame to make it more interesting. Tried their Seafood Spaghetti Carbonara at RM35. The taste is stills remain but their garlic bread is not fresh and it's cold and hard, not a go at all.

Richard just after work and had join me when I'm eating half way and he had ordered the Chicken Aglio Olio and the meat portion as usual is a lot and it's a bit spicy too on the spaghetti.

"Bae Good Teh" haha yes it's spells this way "BAE GOOD TEH" hahaha interesting isn't?! there's a stretch of BKT shops there but it had been a BKT spot for Ed so we went for BKT dinner last Saturday and it's actually open from am to pm.

A Malaysian spices to have it along when having BKT, chili and garlic

Ordered a one and half portion of original bah kut teh with the lean meats! and it's a clear soup but it's full with meat essence

They do also have braised pork but stills can't beat the thick sauce braised pork in my hometown hehe but this braised pork it's not that bad too..

Something you will be keep ordering which is the yao char koay, it's so crispy at the outside and yet soft in the inside

Nambawan @ Sri Manja PJ off old klang road (pork burger)

Wow it's been like 9 months i never come to Nambawan for their pork burger and saw some comments saying their pork burger price had increase from RM6.90 to RM9.90 but no I'm still paying RM6.90 for the big fat juicy pork patty burger! hehe..

And I bet still many of you might not find this place yet, so hopes this coordination helps you to find the location of Nambawan.

So here it is the Pork Burger in Nambawan with the price remains at RM6.90, still same big fat juicy ones ^^

Their menu is getting lesser as compared to my last visit on September 2010, but they do have specialty on the day where we also ordered a mushroom soup which they have it and it was so smooth and creamy and it just for RM3.40

Once more specialty of the house on last Saturday it is the Pull Pork Burger at RM9.90 and this is really irresistible! The aroma is good with the fragrant of the meat on how it was cook. Totally a must order if they have it for the Today's Special.. Totally no regret!!

Their beverage is cheap too for a big mug of Orange Juice at Rm3.90 but a bit tasteless hahaha and the Wheatgrass Juice at RM2.50 and it stills taste like the same as you can find in other coffee shops

Colorful Macaroons @ Levain Boulangerie Patisserie

Been listening to friends on how tasty and delicious of the bakery in Levain and finally I'm there yesterday. This place is so pack even the car park is not enough! but yet no one is making a big fuss on that because of the worth of finding parking to try out the mouth watering bakery in Levain! here I come....

There's definitely choices of bread and I'd pick 2 types which is the Crispy Long Sausage RM4.60 and Juicy Chicken Pizza RM4.80, love both of the bread! kudos!

The decor in Levain is pretty much into the English design

A lot been saying as well that the macaron in Levain is good and to be kiasu of me I bought 10pcs to entitle for the RM3/piece or else it will need RM3.60 per piece >.< No doubt their macaroon is really good and less sweet! nom* nom* loving it ^^

Weekend approach and it's also the time to enjoy the "tai tai" life with my lovely babes and this time we went La Bodega in BSC for their breakfast and it's really a non disappointment breakfast by having the mouth watering and scrumptious BIG BREAKFAST! hahhaha

I'd ordered a big breakfast with orange juice and a cappuccino and all these is in a package price for RM32++ and you might think of getting a small glass of orange juice but you are wrong! check out my pix below ^^

Alicia had ordered a English breakfast at RM27++ with a choice of scramble egg, hash brown and chicken sausage and also comes with a orange juice and choice of hot beverage which she chose a cappuccino as well.

Our dearest Yvonne was late for about 45minutes and we almost finish our breakfast even we eat it in a very slow pace. Anyway she had ordered a big breakfast as well with orange juice and a hot chocolate as her hot beverage selection and it's also RM32++

We had a great time by chatting till noon at La Bodega, gossips, works, etc haha.. all in.. another week approaching so wait for my new breakfast hangout place haha...

Again back to Bird Man Cafe and it's because Oriental did not open again grrrrr....

Anyway Bird Man lunch set it's worth to eat so it's still not a bad choice hehe..

As usual ala carte menu from RM5.90 and additional RM3.90 for soup, beverage and dessert

Choice of beverage range is from coffee, three layers tea or jasmine or ice lemon tea or etc..

soup choices from mushroom soup or tomyum, their mushroom soup not too bad tho

and before I go to the dessert of the day, let me share with you of what we ate,

We ordered a Nelson Tan Sausages Omelette Spaghetti at RM7.90, it looks interesting uh?! about the taste it's edible

We also ordered ordinary dish like Creamy Fish Fillet Rice at RM6.90 and their cream sauce taste different as compare what we used to have, but it's not a wow either

Besides, had also ordered a Hawaiian Style Chicken Rice at RM5.90 and it doesn't have much taste of Hawaiian but it's stills edible

Last but not least the dessert of the day is Konyaku jelly!

Gelare Cafe @ E@Curve

I was having a pancake crave ever since I saw the banner of Gelare showing pancake with banana and last Monday finally I went and fulfil my crave satisfaction with pancake king Richard hahaha..

Gelare Cafe it's located just next to Maxis Centre in E@Curve, despite the business is pretty quiet.

Besides pancae, they do have waffles, sandwiches and gelato and their price is pretty decent too =)

So here it is my Banana Pancake stack of 2 at RM7.90! the texture it's not too soft which I like it so much compare to Paddington House of Pancake which way too soft.

Notice the beverage? it's not mine hahaha but belongs to Richard. Cafe Mocha at RM9.90

And this is the plain pancake stack of 3 at RM7.90

Summary: it's cheaper compare to PHOP and even I like the texture of Gelare's Pancake even more hehehe

Hwangsil Korea BBQ @ Damansara Neo, D'sara Perdana

Scratching head of what to eat and what I'd just did last week is that, I walk down from my apartment and walk across to Damansara Neo and try out a Korean BBQ which is Hwangsil Garden

At first I thought not many people would know this place since it looks pretty isolated hahaha.. but who knows there's actually Korean who dine here.

The best thing in Hwangsil is that you can order 1 type of BBQ meat instead of 2 types! so I'd ordered a Pork Belly at RM25 and had grill it at another stove instead of in front of us and just serve us the pork belly once they had grilled it.

And before we are being serve with our pork belly we thought that we will not be serve with their regular appetizer/cordinments but we were wrong and ta~da~ they just serve along it when they serve the pork belly hehe..

love this anchovies, it's crispy

steamed egg is FREE

Besides the pork belly, we had ordered a Sundubu Jigae(hot soup with tofu) at RM18 and it comes with a white rice so we save up RM5 for one bowl of rice hehehe

At the end of dinner, we was served with watermelon and also a complimentary beverage which either a cinnamon tea or ice coffee and we had chose Cinnamon tea and it was soooo sweeet and it's rich with cinnamon taste.

Guess what I'd return to Bird Man again and this time it's with my beloved Joo, I knew she's unhappy and at the same time she is having her off day. Anyway had a good conversation with her and we enjoy our lunch in Bird Man and sadly do not have any real Birdman perform for us hahaha opps oooops

Anyway Joo had ordered a Pepperocino with Green Mussels at RM16.90 and it's really rich in pepper!

And as for me I'm not having a very good appetite the other day maybe I knew I had a sinful dinner on the same night so I keep it simple and ordered a French Toast with hard boiled egg at RM5.90(if not mistaken or might be cheaper) I love the taste of the toast and the combination it's just awesome ;)

Jeng jeng jeng... back to Betty's Midwest again and last Tuesday is my 4th times and had dine with Pam and Maggie and we had try out something else even how much Maggie missed the Pull Pork Burger hahaha...

We was given a complimentary Dog Food(fries with gravy and cheese) at RM9 it's because our previous visit we wanted to order it but the stove is not working so then was told we will get a compliment Dog Food on our next visit keke... The taste was a little cheesy and Maggie loves it!

We also crave for their pork ribs! yummmmmmy! it's the Soft Pork Ribs (400g) at RM29.50. It was really tender and the sweetness of the marination is fantastic! you'll definitely ask for more hehe...

We had also try out th Beer Boston Pork(marinate with beer, really!) at RM27.50 the meat it's really juicy and tender and don't worry you'll not get drunk after having this hahaha.. guess wart?! once you slice the meat, the meat will just melt!

All of us is pretty satisfy but still have some sweet tooth but not Maggie, co she does not like sweet stuff, so after awhile some digestion progress, me and Pam had decided to order a Apple Crumble with ice-cream at RM8. The vanilla ice-cream is so rich and the apple crumble is a bit warm and both combination is just awesome! and I have some models with the apple crumble too, check it out ;)

Yesterday I'd lunch with Ms Mah and Ms Wong again, and they brought me to this Oriental Chinese Cuisine where they have very good deals for lunch time and price starts from 7.90 with beverage and NO TAX! yes NO TAX hehe.. Somehow I feel their cuisine have a touch of Nyonya.

I'd ordered a Kapitan Seafood set at RM12.90 with beverage and dessert and was told Kapitan Seafood is their Signature Dish and the gravy it's sour with a touch of nyonya. Love the gravy ^^

Miss Mah had ordered a Onion Fried Ginger with Cod Fish at RM12.90 with beverage and dessert too

And Ms Wong ordered a Fried Koay Teow at RM7.90 with only beverage and their fried it's good, i taste the "wok hei" hehe..

What is your first impression when you see such a shop name?

My first impression is that.... what shop is this even they said it's a cafe and restaurant but I'm still doubt it's a decent place looking at the signage like this, despite I'm surprise that the interior it's pretty stylish.

Anyway I'd went in and explore during my lunch on last Monday and guess wart? they actually serving a pretty good lunch set menu starting from the price RM5.90 and additional RM3.90 for beverage and dessert/fruit

I'd ordered a Black Pepper Chicken Rice at RM5.90, the taste is edible even I don't taste much of the black pepper sauce but it's good enough for the overall taste

Oh ya before I forget, it actually comes with soup as well either the choice of mushroom soup or tomyum.

And Ms Mah had order a Unagi Rice at RM15.90, not worth the money to eat this with the portion of unagi and actually the actual name for this dish is longer and I couldn't remember hahaha sorry =P

The Han Room @ The Gardens Mid Valley

Last weekend I also had my brunch and food explore in The Han Room, it's a oriental restaurant serving dim sum in the weekends and ala carte menu. It just newly open not long ago says few months? it's hidden just at the back of M Concept store.

Dimsum which I tried are as below;

No idea what is this called but it's consist of shrimp ^^

this dimsum taste so-so only as it's not hot enough during serve

I love the fu-chuk quin a lot! so juicy

and their char siew bao is not bad either, with lotsa fillings and thin layer of bun

This is the goose puff and the taste pretty weird tho

Salad fish fillet, I can't really taste the fish but the taste of mayo is always good haha

The chee cheong fun soy sauce is too salty and the taste not really on par

Last but not least, always end with ..... egg tart! and so far the egg tart is tender and soft and the puff it's pretty crunchy

Summary: The total bill is RM75 and for this price and food presentation and taste, I rather go to KL Hilton for their dimsum hehehe

Over the weekend, I'd went to Jospeh Kitchen for a late lunch as I had some appointment going around on that day. Deric had brought me to Joseph Kitchen where we almost lost our way coz Solaris Dutamas it's not fully constructed yet and it's stills in a messy environment with construction works still going on and messy parking. But luckily Joseph environment it's pretty cozy.

Anyway, we had decided to Joseph and I'd ordered a refreshing juice where it consist of passion fruit and fresh orange and obviously it's a thirst quench drink and it's not bad tho.

I'd alsp ordered a tomato base marinara spaghetti, and I found that the tomato base taste somehow makes me feels that the more you eat the more unpleasant feeling you had and the spag is getting dry. This main course is around RM15

Deric had ordered a vegetarian fried rice RM12, I tasted the wedges and it was awesome and for the fried I think there's too much of pepper in it.

Last but not least, we had ordered their Raspberry Cheesecake and it was yummy and fresh and was told if it's not fresh, it will not be charge and they have limited piece only, so be early! hehe

Pao Xiang Bah Kut Teh

Last week, I had went to Pao Xiang for a late dinner and had landed in one of their outlet which it's in 1Utama.

Interior wise it's nothing much but it's totally a new dimension of having bah kut teh under a air condition room ;)

They are trying to remain the continental feel by having the tableware in very classic design of rooster

Had order 2 different parts of meat which is the ribs

and the sui kut

And actually there's price difference for the meat in different outlet, so far I had found out that Mid Valley outlet selling at RM13, Kota Damansara RM10.50 and I had mine in 1U for RM11.50 not only price difference for meat but also on their rice and vege and tea or in short everything in the menu, you do not believe me? check out yourselves ^^

They only have one type of rice here which is just plain white rice

And also had order a "choy sum" vege for RM7 @ 1U and as mentioned price difference where in Mid Valley it's for RM10 for this plate of vege!

Summary: the bah kut teh it's not bad and it's hygiene enough where everyone will have their own portion in a separate heated bowl. And next time you know where to dine to save up some budget after some price comparison I'd research her and also the Question here is how come there will be price difference when it's a franchise? hmmm...

Normally most of the people will dine at Good Friends restaurant for dim sum when they're in Genting. But do you guys aware of that there's is also a Chinese restaurant which serves good dim sum as well?

I'd went to Genting Palace with my family last weekend to try out the dimsum and surprisingly most of the dish is good. It's located just next to the entrance of Genting Casino.

And let me bring you through what is must order and which is depend hahaha

Lor Mai Kai is a must! it just melt into your mouth yum yum

You can either order or not to order the braised beancurd roll coz it's not a big deal anyway =P

I found that the prawn dumpling is just so-so only

Same goes to Siew Mai

But not to say no to the egg tart, it's so soft and smooth and not to left out crispy of the puff!

Their Shanghai dumpling seems different than what we used to eat and the taste it's just moderate

Had also order the Scallop Rice Noodle, it's soft and the scallop it's huge but there's only 2 pieces hahaha

My dad and aunt loves the pork ribs and it's a bit spicy and the meat is tender enough ;)

Last but not least, where you needs to but this into your list! which is the "Wu Kok" omg the yam it's just fantastic and smooth and it will just makes you scream out loud and ask for more!

This is my 2nd Bangkok trip and the passenger next to Steven brought a GPS and he is checking out how fast is the airplane can go and it's so fast!

Once we arrive we head to the hotel and after went for grocery shopping to get things we unable to get in Malaysia. As you can see the milk tea it's really good n it's local product of Thailand and also the yogurt and prune juice!

found a unusual flavor of chewing gum as well, the pineapple flavor which it's not sweet but extremely cool!

Steven also said Swensens in Thailand is way cheaper compare to Malaysia and it's really true. A chocolate brownies with 1 scoop of ice-cream it's just 89THB

and they are having the summer promotions of Mango Sensation, for this 2 scoops of mango sorbet with banana and mango nata de-co-co just 99THB!! and the taste it's really gives u lotsa sensation yet refreshing!

Now let me show you what is good at these places I went, let's start with Huai Khwang Market where it's reachable via MRT and go to Exit 3. Huai Khwang it's a night market where it's only operates at night till early morning says 6am and over here it's famous for chicken rice and also the pig troter rice, where you can spot the stalls according to my picture and these stalls it's located at the busy alley where besides food there's also stalls selling fashions. Besides the chicken rice, there's also the local Thai salad where they smash the tomato, long beans n sliced papaya and serve.

Chicken rice it's a must eat, the belacan just simply makes you crave for more rice

Pig troter rice, a bit gross if you look at the tray of braised pig troter but the taste is good

End result of thai salad, you can also ask to add raw baby crab or cockles

Got no idea what fruit is this but it's selling along the alley of the night market

Next, the famous market in Bangkok is Chatuchak and it's only opens for business in the weekend. You can easily finds foods, clothes, household and lotsa interesting stuff here. You might get lots at this market as well coz it's like a maze

Food wise there's this awesome tomyum located at the alley on the right after you are out from Kamphaeng Phet station.

No farting sign is at the hawker stall

Besides the good tomyum, the other good stuff in Chatuchak is the coconut ice-cream where it's just at the entrance of Chatuchak once you are out from the MRT station. It's refreshing and you can choose your toppings too!

Besides that you must also try the milk tea in Thailand as their milk tea color is in orange color and this gentlemen who selling the milk tea did some stunt with his tea as well and he won some awards of "pulling tea" (teh tarik)

What shopping mall it's a trade mark in Thailand? Yes, you are right! it's the Siam Paragon.

Besides, being a nice mall selling luxury goods they also have nice delicacies! After you selling desserts and toast, their famous item is the Shibuya Honey Toast! it's located at the lower ground where the food court is

Besides After You, there's more food you can find in the food court which is sausage or pork ribs

and my favourite part which is the Thai pancake, it's crunchy with sweet coconut ^^

and guess what I found in the food court of Siam Paragon as well?! it's MOS Burger! with it's premium beef patty which make a different! but not the fries haha

Ok done with food, let's see what they have in Siam Paragon over the week when I was around... they have car luxury car exhibition from Bentley to Porsche to Lamborghini

Besides car exhibition, there's a newly open Madame Tussauds which opens in Siam Centre and had put some figures up in Siam Paragon to promote it.

Well done with mall, done with market and what's next? Let's explore the Grand Palace where the King lives and the only transportation to get there is by cab or car or bus and no train nor MRT. The trip fare by cab it's around 100THB

The entrance ticket to the Grand Palace is 350THB and it's so expensive but if u're Thai, u can enter for free!

I'm being kiasu to have a headshot in the Grand Palace hahaha...

Khao-san it's just around the Grand Palace so Steven and I had ride on the Tuk-Tuk where it's a must ride thing in Thailand haha and tuk-tuk cost it's more expensive compare to a cab with shelter ~.~

What is Khao-san and what is in Khao-san? Well Khao-san it's just another area in Bangkok where you can find suppliers of jeweleries like silver and in Khao-san also you can find lotsa massage parlour with great deals! tattoo shops, bars and ang moh(s) is all over! it's really another paradise where you can chill on and the budget hotel it's cheap 5-700THB only

There's this restaurant serve huge portion of Thai food where it's only 100THB but the plate of fried rice is huge! and this restaurant will turns into a party place later at night

Huai Khwang Market @ Bangkok

Normally when people travels to Bangkok the only things is to the shopping heaven in Pratunam and neglected good food around.

This time let me show you what is good in Huai Khwang Market and it's only opens at night till early morning and what is good here is chicken rice! it's just 30THB and it pair with sambal belacan which you will definitely miss the cravings of it like how much I'm feeling now hahaha

There, this thai papaya salad it's something local but this stall papaya salad is the ummmph and the specialty it's that you can add raw baby crab or cockles

She just smash things up

and the final product ta~da~ but i doesn't like the taste of it hahaha

The next must eat thing in Huai Khwang is the braised pig troter rice, the taste is good but I just can't forget how awful is the whole pig troter looks like and it just took my appetite away.

Huai Khwang is famous for chicken rice and pig troter rice. So whatcha waiting for? hehe

Here am I again to Cantina @ KD!! just to refresh you guys Cantina serves Eurasian Muslim foods which says it's HALAL so for Muslim friend don't worry and now you can dine good food in Cantina @ KD!

As for today I'm having lunch with Michael and I had bring him to explore Cantina @ KD as for their promising dishes!

Today I feels like having Asian food so I'd order a Kampung Fried RM6 and it comes with a bulls eye! as usual I love Lawrence cooking as he puts lotsa vege into it and the aroma of the kampung fried is gooood! and I love the belacan too hehe...

Michael had order a Green Curry Fried RM6 with bulls eye too!! how amazing is that! and another things which amaze me is that how can green curry blends into fried rice so well and yet there's aroma of the fried and the green curry as well.... clap clap for Lawrence again.

The Loaf Bakery & Bistro

The loaf offers not only premium breads but they do have a full of ala carte menu which is offered during lunch and dinner. It's started first in Langkawi and now it's available in Pavilion KL and also Bangsar Village II.

I had went both to try the same beverage which is the 60c cube which it's a frozen espresso cube and add on with hot steam milk so that you can have a different experience on having a ice coffee.

Somehow, there is difference between the taste of the 60c cube in Pavilion and BVII, the espresso cube in Pavilion seems not frozen with 100% espresso which you can see the comaparison of photo as below;

As a summary for this 60c cube beverage, it's avisable that you enjoy this beverage in BVII as the aroma and taste of it it's much more smoother and delicious compare to the outlet in Pavilion.

Besides having the 60c cube, had also try on their juice with a detox functionality

Had try the club sandwich in The Loaf Pavilion, nothing much to shout about

and the Carbonara seems too rich of it's taste

Food which I'd explore in BVII outlet is their mushroom soup in a bun, yes their mushroom soup it's rich with mushrooms and some truffles but it's just lotsa mushrooms but not creamy enough.

and also the Squid Ink Pasta it taste more like a fried Kung Po Spagetti hahaha

Summary, I only like the 60c cube in BVII and their bread but not the ala carte menu which not realy worth the money

I'm back to Cantina! I went to Cantina after my movie in 1Utama and it's because I crave for their food a lot! and I'd order a Rib with Spaghetti with tomato puree RM17, the taste is just remarkable!

and also a Beef Steak and Cheese Sandwich! RM10, you just can't forget how it taste after you finish it =)

Once again I'm back to Betty's Midwest and today trying out something new with Pammie. Ordered a Clear Mushroom Soup RM10, love the taste with lotsa carrots and onions in it ^^

Pammie just can't forget her love the "Pulled Pork Burger" RM12, it's juicy and tender

The only thing you can do when you dine at the same restaurant which you dine before is either you order the only one food you craving or you gonna try something new in their menu and this round I'm trying something which I have not try before haha...

Had order a Spagetthi ala Marinara RM12, it was flood with tomato puree and i love the gravy! and the seafood are fresh!

Wen How had ordered the fish and chips and he claimed that the size of it had shrink badly =(

While Eddy is having the Beef Starganox RM16, the beef slice is tender and juicy and I dislike the mixed vege taste, it has lotsa garlic =S

We end the dinner by sharing a slice of warm Lemon Cheese Cake RM8 and their cake is just so-so only

After years Kampachi had never fail to deliver their gourmet to it's freshness and taste. As usual I'd walk-in for dinner and order as what I used to order here.

The Kani Maki(soft shell crab) and I'd place a half order RM23 which consist 4pieces and a normal full order RM46 is 8pieces which it's pretty huge portion. It's crunchy and crispy as ever!

And I think they had a new glassware with Kampachi on it ^^

By sitting at the bar, the chef complimentary a appetizer!

To compliment with my soft kani maki, had also place order for their Sushi Bento Set RM50 and it has super duper fresh sashimi! and sushi! look at the set it's huge!

POCO Homemade @ Bangsar

Discover a new dining place in Bangsar and knowing it by reading from a magazine review. It's easier to be found from NSTP. Poco had a very cosy interior deco and it's just gives you a feeling you're some where in Taiwan, maybe it's the color and decor combination ;)

Their menu is handmade too

Had try their Chicken Katsu Don and it's a set lunch with Miso soup RM14.90 but the taste is just so-so

Tried their Omu Rice as well RM13.80 but the taste is just can't beat La Yosh in Plaza Damas and both price is almost the same.

Main course is done and it's time to try their dessert and had their specialty Tofu Cake RM8, the first bite you'll taste creamy cheese and slowly you'll taste yogurt and after you'll taste soy. What an experience adventure! good to try!

They serve UCC coffee as well! a combination to go with the cake ;)

They even got personal touch on their receipt ^^

Summary: a nice place to hangout but it's not a place for food =P

What will you think of when you get an invitation to Hakka Republic? the first think cross my mind is, what type of place is this, perhaps a drinking bar. Thus, it's not but it's a fine dine restaurant with live band performance when the clock hits 10pm.

What I can say about the menu is.... not much too choose. basically all of us almost had the same dish which is the Australia Wagyu and the marination of this piece of meat is not enough.

But of course it's a fine dine restaurant before they serve you the main course or appetizer, you'll be serve with their house bread and even with a spoon of scallop on house!

We ordered a few appetizer which is the Tuna with Tobikko and nothing to shout about.. just hurmmmm normal =P

We ordered a Foie Gras as well, the taste is acceptable and it taste better when you have it with the toast

After showing you what we had for starter and even told you guys what most of us ordered but there is still other main dish we ordered which is the US Wagyu and this taste way better compare to Australia Wagyu and even the price difference is almost RM100 but I think worth it hahaha

And also a Pan Fried Dory which taste so-so only

Ordered some sides as well and the puff looks cool and it taste like a egg puff

Also a few flavour of mash potato where visually looks da same

After meal, I got a cappucino

while the rest had been enjoying their wine while the food is served haha

Summary: I was here 2 months ago and basically I had forgot the actual name of the dish and also the pricing as I remembered is not cheap and the taste is so-so only. So sorry for the inconvenience guys but they do have a live band every Friday and Saturday night starts from 10pm

Got to know Cantina by Pam. I doubt you will walk in when you passby maybe due to it's exterior. let me tell you, don't judge by it's cover when there's lots to tell with the food they serve! Tonite the dinner menu is all decide by Lawrence and you will amaze with his secret recipe menu which can't be found from the menu! Look for him and get him to recommend!

So now you have seen the outlook. Let me show you what they serve which it's a Halal restaurant run by Lawrence an Eurasian convert Muslim and not only Malays cuisine he serves but also Thai, Indon, Nyonya and Western! where can you find all good halal food with all this different cuisines?

It's my second time to Cantina, the 1st was a buffet with barbeque Western and Asian food and over the weekend had try the West side!

We start off with a Vege Tempura @ RM8 and the flour taste I just got no idea how to describe it but you will crave for more! and also dip on the chilli sauce!

Lawrence encourage diners to have more fiber in their food pyramid so the next dish is a Potato Salad with Smokey Turkey @ RM10, the sauce and fresh potatoes and greens just make this dish goes greener!

After all the fibers intake and here comes the superstar which is the Beef Steak & Cheese Sandwich @ RM10!! you'll definitely ask for more!! We gets lotsa ingredient due to many of us sharing and in it besides cheese and beef there is also egg and it is toasted!! besides that, it was so juicy when you have the first bite!

Besides the Beef Steak & Cheese Sandwich @ RM10, Lawrence did prepare us a Lamb & Cheese Sandwich, where I still prefer the beef hahaha..

We also had a Salmon pizza @ RM12! and the most amaze things besides the crunchy crust, the flour which made the pizza also gave me a shock, where Lawrence uses wheat flour and when I ask him, he said yea I tend to like people takes more fiber which is good for health. It's really impressive isn't?! a shop which looks soooo normal but the menu Lawrence come out with it's a surprised!

Guess wart we had for dessert?! it's Pengat Pisang @ RM3! a Malay dessert which looks like Bubur Cha Cha but this is made with mainly banana, sweet potato and yam. It's my first time trying this and despite it's not a very sweet dessert tho and the aroma it's awesome!

Sekinchan Ikan Bakar Restaurant @ The Strand Kota Damansara

It's just another weekend where cruising for dinner and had come upon Sekinchan Ikan Bakar Restaurant and got attracted with the overall look & feel and here we go, explore this new restaurant in The Strand.

It's a self-service restaurant, so you gotta choose your seafood from the designated counter. There is also a ulam counter. Just a head up to you guys, those display item like soup and keropok in the counter it's not free but chargeable! so becareful when you self-serving hahaha

After choosing your preferable seafood, you will just get receipt and to pay at the counter when you are leaving.

There's this sign written some fish takes 45mins to grill but end up my sting ray and squid also makes me waited for 45mins!

After being attract by the look & feel and waited for 45 mins and the grill fish and squid doesn't turns out good! no seafood freshness taste and chilli paste is not spicy enough.

Ha! looks like I'd been not blog for long and even this food review was hosted 2 weeks ago and till now only I got some free time to blog about it.

Anyway, I got a call from Rizal on last last Wednesday asking me over for a food review in Hoofed which just above Tom, Dick & Harry. I knew Hoofed before I go there due to my good brother always hangout there, especially for their pork dish.

I like their interior design, it's spacious and there's a open air area and the ceiling is pieces of bricks which make it special.

Hoofed is gonna launch their new menu, me and a few more bloggers had the review last night hehehe...
The chef of the night is Timothy(on the left) and accompnied by the man behind the bar Shawn(on the right)

We started with the Roast Pork Belly(salty chunks of belly with crispy skin) @ RM17. It was good and was told it had been marinate with chinese "nam yue" and after send for a deep fried. This dish it's beer best companion hahaha...(but too bad I don;t drink haha)

And guess what! the crispy roasted pork is awesome! it's tender and the pork skin is so so so so krispy!!! and I love this picture I capture most! watcha think?!

After having some porky as starter, finally there is vege! which is the Smokin' Duck Salad RM16 (Smoked duck breast, served with mix greens, century egg and hardboiled egg, garden veggies and drizzled with homemade soy vinaigrette. Hearty with robust flavours and an oriental twist)

It's my 1st time having salad with duck meat, pretty interesting and delicious ;)

I did not expect that we will be serve with a suckling pick which Hoofed name it Hog On Board, it's RM170 for whole pig and RM90 for half of it. It's so juicy, sweet & tender meat roasted till crispy and served with homemade gravy. Normally we only eat the suckling pig crispy skin but for this, even the meat is soooooooooo tender!

and check out how it was chop with?! a HUGE ummm can I call that a knife? or a cutter? or.... hmm watever =P

Actually I was pretty full after having the suckling pig but more to go and next is the Braised Lamb Shank @ RM35 (Tender lamb shank served with ratatouille on a bed of bacon mash with gravy), which it's a single portion but it looks like for two coz it was HUGE!

Next, we had Pan Seared Atlantic Cod @RM38(Pan seared Atlantic cod, served on a bed of black eye bean sauce with char grilled peppers) nothing much to shout for this, it taste just normal LOLx

Thank god after so much dishes that we ate, finally comes the smaller portion of sharing a Pork Shoulder Chop @ RM30 and Chicken Chop @ RM24. I prefer the pork chop more than the chicken as the chicken chop taste is still not there yet but absolutely the pork chop is a go which it's sweet & tender!

both presentation looks da same but the meat is different ;)

And guess wart?! we are served with Bacon Fried Rice @RM18 (Fried rice with bacon , Chinese sausages, egg & mushrooms. A traditional favourite that’s ideal for sharing) just like the Chinese Wedding, rice only served towards the end hahaha... anyway I don't really taste much of bacon here and the aroma of the fried rice it's not there yet.

Done done done with all the main course!! stomach explosion! last but not least dessert! I love it SO SO MUCH!!! it's the Bananarama! it's something like smooth creamy custard with banana,chocolate and grated nuts! one is not enough, I bet you will fall in love with this too ^^

Ecoba Restaurant & Bar @ PJ Trade Center D'sara Perdana (Launch of New Menu)

Was invited by Tim for the new menu food review with 7 others Malaysia's Hottest Bloggers of Ecoba earlier. The new menu will be unveil on 13th Dec 2010 which means 2 days more and you can enjoy more varieties! No more "ham choy" menu booklet and say hello to a wooden finished menu!

After waiting from 8pm till 9:15pm for the full attendance of the Malaysia's Hottest Bloggers... Finally my hungry stomach can enjoy the session where we kick off with the Seafood Kerabu Salad. It's consist of glass noodle, seafood and the Kerabu ingredients but honestly I like this Kerabu salad more than Nasi Kerabu. This salad it's really a good appetizer, with sweet and sour taste of it and yet refreshing ;)

Next we had the Squid Salad which the dressing is wasabi mayonnaise and if you don't take wasabi just like me, please choose those with lesser dressing on it else you will end up coughing and I'm one of them haha...

They do also have sandwiches with the choice of Ciabatta bread or Focaccia bread and also choices of Smoked Salmon or Grilled Chicken. It also comes with lotsa fries and greens! Me personally loves the Smoked Salmon with Ciabatta bread. I can really taste my bread and salmon at the same time ^^

Next we have the Asian food, the Seafood Fried Rice which comes with a huge prawn and the rice is just nice but the chilly sauce whih comes with it taste a lil salty or maybe this is the way?! Anyway had feedback it haha...

Western side we had this Surf 'n' Turf where this is when you order when you got no idea what you feel like having on your plate but by ordering this you can have prawn, beef, lamb, and salmon.. not only that and salad too hahahaha...

So what do you think they have in the new pasta selection??!! Well they have this Arabiata Spagetti which it's spicy and the impressive part is that, you'll taste some mince meat but actually you can't really see it and the only think you see is brinjal, mushrooms and spaghetti but where magic meat hide? this is really amazing.

The most excite part is here! which is the medium rare Tenderloin, it's tender and just melt into your mouth. One serving 350g where it's actually portion for 2. Eventually you can share it with your friend or else you will end up stuffing yourself and end of the day look for ENO hahahaa...

Ok... after all this sinful dish, here comes the dessert where we had Creme Brulee to pair with kiwi and mango bites. The creme brulee it's not that smooth or soft but the kiwi and mango bites is refreshing when you pair it with the creme brulee. A new way of eating creme brulee ;)

Besides creme brulee, we also had the Mango Fritters with a scoop of ice-cream but sadly I don't taste much of mango but a lot of popiah skin haha and also had feedback to p.i.c. Kean =D

Ok end of the meal and it's drinking and chilling time... with lotsa cocktails but too bad I don't really drink but I just loves the colors of the cocktails and the fancy names hahaha...

After all this reviews... I got a good news and a bad news...

Good news is that yay! finally there's more food varieties in the neighbourhood restaurant bar!

Bad news is...... due to Budget 2011.... the price had also slightly increase... wat to do... salt and sugar itself price jack up like nobody business.. so please forgive Ecoba k and enjoy the Oogle hahahaha...

Aoyama Japanese Restaurant @ Sri Hartmas

After so many months and now Aoyama had a new look where they had move to a shop next to them and also had a new renovated look. The first impression on the new look is like wow... such a nice and bright entrance and finally they revamp hahaha...

New cutleries set as well?

As usual I will head to the bar counter so that I can get items which out from menu from the Head of Chef Boon. This time he had prepare something light with single portion for sharing but with more varieties.

We start with something real light which is the cold tofu with crunchy anchovies. Smooth texture of tofu and crunchy yet crispy anchovies it's just a good starter ;)

After the starter, here comes a Onsen Tamago Salada. Normally we eat onsen tamago just like eating half boiled egg. But this time it's comes with salad and the texture of it combine with vege is pretty amazing.

Something which I had been waiting for so so long... Here comes my soft shell crab handroll and yet it stills can't beat the soft shell crab in Kampachi :(

A break time with Edamame(japanese green peas)

Continue with something real interesting. which is the Dobin Mushi, where essence of seafood boiled in a teapot and you pour the soup into a tea cup and drink it. I found it pretty cool too.

Normally we eat tempura of brinjal, prawn, pumpkin and now we have mix slice vege tempura which is the Kitsu Tempura. If you like spicy you can also sprinkle some chilli powder on it, it also comes with a tempura soy sauce for you to dip on.

Actually after having most of the food which so call light, I'm pretty full but Boon had also prepare a Hotatei Shoyu Yaki(grill scallop) it's was juicy tho

Finally done with the dish and no matter how full am I, I still can finish my dessert coz this is my favourite part in Aoyama, which is their Macha ice-cream! woohoo!! as usual more red bean pleaaaaaseeee.... hehehe...

Was also recommend to their coconut mix sesame ice-cream, was told it helps to digest haha.. but I don't think so and the taste is weird and I personally dislike it.

On house a secret recipe dessert which is prep grape with wine and fresh cream on top.. I don't like the taste as I don't really like the taste of alcohol =P but the grape was still fresh haha..

Day 2 :: Part 2 Jiu Fen (5th November 2010)

Soon we done with Yeh Liu and also got stalk by a cab driver to convince us to take his ride, and yea we took it in the end and we got a bad headache after coz his driver skills is madness!

He drop us at Kee Lung and from here we took a bus transit up to Jiu Fen.

Once enter the alley of Jiu Fen, this is where te food expedition starts! Non-stop craving =P and was told by Nicole that Jiu Fen is famous for "Ee Yuen" means yam glutinous which before it was cook it looks like this where it comes with packaging

where after it was boiled and serve with red bean soup, it looks like this

Seriously and honestly this is the best! and what I'm missing most... love the taste of the purple yam ball, it has more texture.

Found another shop selling the same thing and it's more like a family business and been running it for long and I personally love the look and feel of it ;)

and they serve the same way with red bean soup, bet this is the way to make it taste better ^^

Besides trying different stalls selling "Ee Yuen", found a very special way of eating ice-cream, where they grate the peanut freshly and put it on "popiah" skin and after scoop two scoops of ice-cream and wrap it up. It was awesome isn't?!

After one ice-cream we move on trying another ice-cream. Which is Dorayaki ice-cream! coolness!

Been seeing this sausage lady in lotsa people's photo album and finally i met her! and her sausage is not bad besides her being own ambassador for it XD bought a 3 flavours sausage to try on and to me I still prefer the original taste of sausage instead of the garlic and forgot what is the black sausage flavour hahaha...

Besides those yummy ones, found some food which I dare not to try which is this "kueh" which looks like "ang-ku kueh" but it's a bit geli compare to our "kueh" la hahaha

There's a lot of souvenir shop as well but there's always things which is unique and some it's not so choose wisely! hehe

After done going thru the food alley and you will finally end up on some breath taking view of Jiu Fen housing area which on the slope downhill

Along the alley, there's also some nice construct and design shops o maybe because of the weather and people?hhhahha

After going thru the "makan" alley, and also looking at the nice view.. and guess wart?! we needs to walk back thru the alley to catch the bus to go back Taipei.

Here ends the second day trip of Kee Lung where we covers Yeh Liu and Jiu Fen and back to Taipei explore Xi Men Ting!

Day 2 :: Part 1 YehLiu Geopark (5th November 2010)

We had took the train and after a transit with a bus ride to Kee Lung district to reach Yeh Liu Geopark.

Soon after we reach, we quickly rush to the bus station to catch the earliest bus and yet we still needs to wait half an hour for the next bus ride and it takes about 2 hours to reach Yeh Liu.

There's is a shuttle bus to Yeh Liu Geopark once you stop at the nearest bus stop.

Chin Ni got a student pass so her entrance fee is always half price of ours!

Let me share some info to you bout Yeh Liu Geopark. Yehliu Geopark is famous for its sea-erosion landscape, while most of the spots are very close to the sea, tourists are advised to observe the tour guide regulations in case of the occurrence of possible danger or causing any damage to the natural resources.

Once we get in.. there's this cute statue and we started to photograph haha...

The most famous rock in this geopark is the Queen's head which looks like this

Of course we snap photo with it hahaa...

Even this uncle use a D200x to capture the Queen's head suing tripod as well!

Once we done havin snap shot with the Queen's head, we move on with more breath taking scenery. And the view from observation deck is AWESOME!!!!

It was raining all the way during our observation and here comes 2 malay lady named Lynette and Kelly hahahaha

Really love this place a lot.. strong wind.. nice stones..

There's another Queen's head which form by the sea too.. which it was place at another area.

After spending 1 hour plus enjoy the view and stones, we quickly look for lunch which there's row of shops right after you get out from the geopark exit. Therefore, we saw a stall displaying fresh oyster and just makes us crave for O-a-chian!! and it's cook by a young chap!

We actually had our lunch in this shop, we ordered a seaweed soup, fried rice and O-a-chian, this 3 dishes for NTD140(RM14) only! cheap uh?!

Let's start the journey... our flight it's 9.50am but due to some headcount problem ur flight had been delayed an hour and we reach Taipei around 4pm. It's our 1st time take off with Air Asia X and it was huge and can't believe so many people are flying to Taiwan hahaha...

Ok mobile phone done, luggage taken.. and now we needs to proceed to the airport shuttle bus counter and it's just NTD125(RM12.50) from airport to town which approx 1 hour journey. Got a bag tag number after you store your luggage in the bus cabin

Once we reach town, we meet up with Nicole and she brought us to grab some dinner of local delicacies, where we had "yangchung bing" aka roti prata with bawang haha.. and it was good

and we also had the "won toon" dumpling.. a very huge one

After filling our stomach with roti prata and dumpling we quickly check in to hotel and drop our luggage. We had book the Teacher's Hostel and surprisingly it was clean and comfy. For 3 pax it's only NTD1650(RM165) it's just 5min walking distance from the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall MRT exit

Soon after we done chucking our luggage in our room, we went to Shi Da night market and Nicole had park her car at the Teacher's University parking lot. While walking out towards Shi Da night market, I can feel that I'm in the filming of Taiwan drama due to the school environment we always watch on tv! haha.. we passby the assembly hall and some buildings which looks so cool.

and sorry if the B&W photo looks creepy, due to low light so i just turn it into B&W ahaha...

Anyway besides the famous Shi Lin night market, Shi Da it's also the best option where most of the locals prefer to go Shi Da, lotsa fashion with low price you can get and not to miss the food!

Soon after we done explore Shi Da, while on our walk back to get the car, we swingby this famous bread store. Once step into it, you'll feels like buying all the variety of bread they sell.. from fancy cakes to awesome made bread with bacon filling and more!!! i'm missing the bread with bacon d... =(

and here ends our Day 1 in Taipei....

Sushi Heng @ Asia Cafe Subang

Was recommended by Patric to Sushi Heng in Asia Cafe, where he claimed that Nicholas Heng can do wonders and gives you surprises. Well of course as a first timer you will not believe what people say until you try it yourselves.

Sushi Heng is surrounded by others stalls in the food court and what can I say for a sushi stall in a hawker centre is that Sushi heng really decorate nicely for his stall. A truly Japanese ambient.

Check out the fresh Salmon and too bad I don't like raw haha...

Had ordered something not from the menu which is the Samurai Special. It's with soft shell crab and others ingredient where Nicholas will create, this is the surprises I meant earlier ;)
The taste of strawberry is refreshing when you have the first bite and follow with the soft and juicy soft shell crab with ebi tempura it's just heavenly! Samurai Special with 8pieces it's for RM25

Maiu Japanese Restaurant @ The Place, D'sara Perdana

Maiu had taking over Umaiya in The Place, Damansara Perdana. But nothing is too bad about Maiu, they serve fresh food and scrumptious Japanese maki and bento.
I still can't figure out how did they grill the teriyaki chicken until the chicken skin is crispy and crunchy and yet it's not oily like what you will predict whether it was deep fried or not, there's no doubt on it. This bento set cost RM22 which it's reasonable and come along with miso soup, salad, and fruits.

I just crave for soft shell crab and here comes my soft shell crab maki ^^ RM16 for this

Jeng jeng jeng... this is absolutely must try. Berjaya Garden Maki. A different recipe to make a maki with baby octopus and avocado on top and the bite of it it's just simply delicious and also crunchy in the inside with a touch of fried tempura and this is also for RM16

Laris Cafe Authentic Kelantan & Thai Food @ Solaris Dutamas

Was invited over for a dinner by Mune to his two weeks old cafe restaurant. Laris mainly served Kelantanese food from 8am-6pm and from 6pm onwards they serve Thai food. Laris is located at Solaris Dutamas and I bet a lot of you might be confused with Solaris or Solaris Dutamas right? Well, Solaris Dutamas is actually another area after by pass SOHO Solaris. If you know MAP Publika, so that area is call Solaris Dutamas and Laris is just the shoplot right behind the shop of the main road.

Superb tomyum! with mix ingredients like squid, beef, chicken, prawn, etc. The tomyum taste is purely tomyum and it's spicy and sour enough. it's not ordinary tomyum you eat out there with tomyum paste and this is pure with assam jawa! woot woot!

It's so cheap RM6 for a bowl of tomyum and you can add noodles without extra charges.. cool isn't?!

Sirap limau is a must!

They serve Nasi Dagang everyday from 8am-6pm and you can choose either to have a curry fish or curry chicken for your Nasi Dagang. I don't really fancy bout Nasi Dagang even I was from the east coast and can have this everyday, maybe it's because of the rice it's sorta hard haha and the fish taste which i dislike =P

It's my first time having Nasi Kerabu, reason being of the colors that freaks me out but after knowing from Mune aunt, the purple color it's actually from the flower petals. This dish is also only serve from 8am-6pm

This is "budu" where it acts like a chilli sauce but in fact it is not spicy but sorta salty.

You have to mix the Nasi Kerabu with the rest of ingredient in the plate such as coconut, vege, peanut sauce and eat it.. the taste is somehow different with good aroma.

Zhi vern's favourite Laksam, even he had finished the plate of Nasi dagang and he can still finish 60% of this. The taste of the flour noodle is plain but with the fish gravy it was ok and me practically don;t really enjoy it hahaha...

Murtabak Diraja Kelantan! this is really good and you can only get it from Laris, due to the supplier it's really from the royalty and this murtabak is only cater for the royalty but now you got lucky coz you can have it now in Laris! as they able to engage with the royalty murtabak supplier ;)
Got no idea how should I describe the taste, but it was delicious with layers of meat. This is only a quarter of the normal size of royalty murtabak. Imagine how huge is the actual size ;)

You have to pair the murtabak with the marinate onion, it's also a recipe from the royalty supplier.

Mune join us later on enjoying his dinner after staring at me and Zhi Vern finishing all the main course as he said he just after gym so it's not good for him to eat immediately hahaha... He had "Mee Kungfu" which it's a fried "beehoon" with gravy. After you eat this you will be as strong as Bruce Lee! hai yaaaa katcha!

Thai Mango Sticky Rice is also one of Laris special desert. the glutinous rice is not so sweet as compare what we have elsewhere and you have to eat this pair with the coconut syrup to get a enrich taste of it ;)

Pulut Inti, it's also looks like "kuih koci". I love the coconut aroma roasted with "gula melaka" it's simply delicious ;)

Laris have take-away door delivery service as well for the residence in Solaris Dutamas ;)
