Seoulscape Bistro @ The Strand, Kota Damansara

Seoulscape Bistro - a new place for people to enjoy and experience the Korea culture of k-cuisine, K-pop and K-art *laugh*! It can also be a drinking and gathering space for  drinkers, kpopholics and designers.

Since oppa gangnam style became the hit of the year, Seoulscape Bistro is using the PSY attraction to lure customers with even better lunch deal.
Walking through the staircase with artistic graffiti on the wall.

We were seated after a warmth welcome by the waitress and presented with handmade menu crafted by recycle paper, pretty creative.

So what's  there for lunch with the RM10 promotion? A few choices were introduced by waitress and I picked the Kimchi Jjigae (normal price RM20) lunch deal RM10 + 7% tax, inclusive of a drink and dessert! worth it right?! Kimchi Jjigae is a stew-like korean dish, cook and braised with kimchi, mushroom, onions, pork and vegetables and it comes with a bowl of rice.
Not to forget they do serve Ban-chan as well which is the condiments. I'm not a fan of ban-chan unless they have anchovies *laugh*...

My colleague ordered a Kimchi Bokkeumbap (normal price RM15) it's actually kimchi fried rice with diced veg and meat. And yes it's RM10 + 7% with drinks and dessert during lunch!
Dessert for sharing. Chocolate biscuit with syrup.
They sell soju as well.
and if you are a big fan for BIGBANG, they have can drinks(RM3.50) with BIGBANG photo! ehehe
The overall environment it's like a designer's cafe. You will see a few corners and wall decorated with photo taken in Korea, toys, mask, and more.

Summary: with the reasonable price, even-though the taste is not as good as chain restaurants but you will feel the effort and sincerity from the chef(korean) and waitress. Keep it up Seoulscape! Fighting!

Dim Sum @ Blossom Restaurant, Swiss Garden Spa&Resort Kuantan

Last Sunday, me and my family had our breakfast at The Blossom in Swiss Garden Spa & Resort, Kuantan. This restaurant served dim sum during the weekends, to avoid disappointment with vast human traffic, it's better to be there early says before 10am.

In Kuantan, there are not many nice dim sum places for breakfast and people usually go to MS Garden Hotel or Zenith Hotel that open just recently, avoid Zenith dim sum but that's another story.

This was my second time in Swiss Garden and wow they did good in surprising me with more than an ordinary dim sum menu. Why? They are serving "xiao loong bao" now! and it's really something hard to come by in Kuantan. Taste wise they are still some margin to left par with... say Ding Tai Fung or Dragon-i.

Nevertheless, Blossom do serve the ordinary prawn dumpling and siew mai as well..
Oh ya they have this spring roll in squid shape, just another gimmick on presentation but they will need to add more flavor to give it a kick.
Besides, they also have smoked duck dumpling but I'm disappointed with it because I can't taste the smoked duck.

Last but not least, thank god there is this Charcoal Egg Tart was there to save the day. I just can't get enough of it and I had all three tarts by myself! And I'm craving for it now! Uurggghh

Pun Choy @ Restaurant LYJ, Sg Buloh

Always wanted to try "Pun Choy". It's a pot of everything. Yes EVERYTHING! Noticed that there is a lot people blog about LYJ in Kg Baru, Sg Buloh for how good their signature Pun Choy tasted and value for money. Pun Choy served in a portion of minimum 5pax and maximum up to 12pax. Everything is arranged and layers in 1 pot so it's seems easy to prepare.

Upon approaching the entrance, you'll see tons of photo of the local celebrities and also artists from Hong Kong and Taiwan who dine in LYJ previously.
Well... of course LYJ do have other specialities like their roasted honey pork (char siew), fried paku-pakis veg, roast duck and etc. But it's because wecame mainly for their Pun Choy,we did not want to other more dish because the portion of Pun Choy came in really huge and we can't really finish it in the end of our meal.

To enjoy a Pun Choy, you needs to place order at least 2 days before and we had ordered a Pun Choy with abalone and scallop for 12pax at RM588 and the normal Pun Choy is around RM288.

Different types of sauces will be served as well.
As you can see the ingredients in Pun Choy are overflowing and there are even more items each layer such as braised pig trotter, braised chicken feet, fish and more. Did we finish this pot of food? we did not! we pack up the remaining and turned it into another home-made Choy Giok (mixed stew kind of dish in sour gravy) =)

Last but not least, this Standing Roast Chicken (Dung Dok Gai) is also another highlight of LYJ, The gimmick of this roast chicken is just so tempting you to have one, but well at least the chicken skin is roasted to crispand that's a plus point for it.

Note: remember too call 2 days before to order the Pun Choy

Summary: after trying out Pun Choy, it's not really that special anyway, the gimmick is just a pot of everything. No harm trying for first timer =)

Cendol Bakar @ Tg Karang

Yesterday, we decided to go to Sekinchan. During our journey heading to Kuala Selangor, I saw lotsa cars stop by the roadside and at that moment, what is in my mind was..... what are they selling? it must be good stuff.

It's a sign written CENDOL BAKAR, REFILL PERCUMA and the first thing that caught my mind was..... what is cendol bakar? sounds special. There was a drive-thru lane too but we missed that because the traffic is pretty bad and we need to reach Sekinchan before sunset. The drive-thru branch is only available at Assam Jawa

They named it Cendol Bakar, it's not that they burn the cendol but they roast the gula melaka to get a better aroma and taste.

As soon as we got further towards Sekinchan, I spotted another branch of CENDOL BAKAR at Jalan Tg Karang. You can easily spot this because all their location is just by the roadside during the way to Kuala Selangor.
They only have 6 types of cendol range from RM2.00 to RM3.50
And their 'free refill' means free water refill and sirap hahahaha
It's a self service order by filling up a small tiny order sheet at the collect and payment counter, and yea they are giving free cendol bakar to those less fortunate people and for verification show your JKM card (Jab. Kebajikan Masyarakat)
We ordered a Cendol VIP @ RM2.00 and Cendol VVIP @ RM2.50
Cendol VIP consist of nata de coco, selasih, corn and red beans. Love the blend of cendol with refreshing nata de coco.
Cendol VVIP consist of glutinous rice, nata de coco, selasih, corn and red beans. The glutinous rice is soft and it's sweet. The combination of eating icy cendol with glutinous rice is appetizing.
We are lucky enough to taste this Cendol Bakar. It was around 5.30pm, when we finish eating it, the  cendol bakar was sold off too. the staff quickly cover with TUTUP(closed) sign to avoid flowing-in-crowd.

Summary: it's good to explore food by the roadside. More over, it's something unique.

Baba Low's 486 Bangsar

It's a lovely morning today, my fiancé decided to bring me out to Baba Low's authentic Nyonya food for breakfast. It's located in a row of old shoplots in Bangsar housing area and it's just located a few shops away from POCO Homemade. Good food always love to hide middle of nowhere.

A small shop with simple furnishing.

Back to the grandpa and granny days.
Due to a morning hunger, I ordered a Nyonya Laksa because I'd been craving for curry few days and yay! finally I got to try the yummy Nyonya Laksa. It's simply delicious with rich flavors.

Nyonya Laksa @ RM6.00
Eddy ordered a Nasi Nyonya @ RM8.00 and Ice Coffee @ RM2.20

Scrumptious Nasi Nyonya come with rice and Nyonya chicken.
We also ordered pai tee @ RM5.00 for 4 pieces
Eat the pai tee in one mouth full is just so heavenly!
How could we missed the must have dessert in Nyonya delicacies which is the CENDOL!!! @ RM3.90
Rich flavors of gula melaka with cute little fat and short green cendol it just so satisfying our tummy (big smile)

Trying to reach the cendol with my tongue hahahaha

Tanzini @ Level 28, G Tower

I always wanted to do something special and nice for my fiance birthday. Even though both of us don't really like to go to downtown KL due to the jam, but for this special occasion it will be exception.

I'd chosen Tanzini due to 1. location, having the view of KL city lights and 2. ambient and food

There is a set dinner menu to be chosen and we had chose the RM188++ 5-course dinner.

Started of with a entré salad and it comes with fresh crab meat
Next, we was then serve with a soup
The 3rd course is a pan seared scallop which is one of my favorite
Before we were serve for the main course, they actually serve us lime sorbet just to clear of our taste bud after having the entré, soup and appetizer
I'd chosen a tenderloin with foie gras which is also one of my favorite that I can't resist to not to choose it when it's part of the set dinner

Eddy had chose the angel hair with lobster
I had made a request to the chef that I would like our dessert which include in the set dinner to have a message of "Happy Birthday" and it really turns out good and the dessert was good too especially their macaroon!

We also ordered a coffee separately to go along with the dessert but the coffee taste is too bitter which I don't really appreciate it.
After all we really enjoy our dinner with the ambient and good food and also with the reasonable price for a fine dining course.
